Attention RescueNet Dispatch-Billing, ePCR, and FRMS Customers:
As many of you may know, RescueNet Dispatch-Billing, ePCR, and Fire RMS use the SAP Crystal Reports engine to help you run your business. ZOLL will be upgrading to the latest version of SAP Crystal Reports, SAP Crystal Reports 2013, to ensure that our RescueNet products are supporting the most current version. Versions of RescueNet with an older version of Crystal, prior to Crystal 2013, will no longer be shipped after 12/31/2015.
ZOLL is currently in the process of making changes to our product offerings to include the SAP Crystal Reports 2013 version, which will impact the following products:
- RescueNet Reporting (Dispatch-Billing and ePCR) – Module will be upgraded to use Crystal Reports 2013 for all reporting functions including Print, Preview and Export
- RescueNet Dispatch-Billing v4.6.1 will include the necessary upgraded components for RescueNet Reporting
- In testing, we have determined that the primary impact is related to reports with detailed sub-reports and slight formatting changes
- We anticipate that the majority of reports will be upward compatible based on our research and testing
- If you have custom reports, we recommend running the report from Crystal 2013 to test (see the “Fixing your Report or Form” section below for details)
- RescueNet Dispatch-Billing
- All functions inherent to RescueNet Dispatch-Billing will be upgraded to use SAP Crystal 2013 in v4.6.1
- If you are using RNDB and RN ePCR, and upgrade RNDB to 4.6.1, you will also need to upgrade RN ePCR to versions 5.4.4 or 6.1.x for compatibility reasons
- No action required from users to use this new functionality once upgraded to v4.6.1
- This upgrade is not required for customers currently using RescueNet Dispatch-Billing
- NOTE – ACTION MAY BE REQUIRED: If you are currently on a version prior to RNDB v4.4x, please plan to upgrade, or download the upgrade from our FTP site, prior to 12/31/2015. This is important to follow the supported upgrade path, and you will not be able to upgrade to v4.6.1 or later if you are not already on RNDB v4.4x or higher
- For questions regarding the Crystal 2013 transition with RescueNet Dispatch-Billing, please email Stacey Bickford at sbickford@zoll.com or support@zoll.com
- RescueNet Billing Forms
- In SAP Crystal Reporting 2013, the Crystal Designer has been discontinued. This capability is used in RescueNet Administration to allow users to make simple modifications to visual forms, without requiring a full version of Crystal Reports to be installed on the workstation. This designer does not have a replacement, and for that reason, we will be removing this functionality from Administration. To make modifications in the future, including alignment of forms, agencies will need to have a full version of Crystal Reports 2013 installed on a workstation to make such modifications
- New Visual Forms packages will be delivered with RNDB 4.6.1 as changes have been made to the report files (.rpt files)
- If you do not wish to import new Visual Forms once you upgrade, you will need to manually fix your .rpt files
- See the “Fixing your Report or Form” section below for instructions on manually upgrading your Visual Forms
- NOTE: This will only be required after upgrading to v4.6.1 or later. As this is not a required upgrade, ZOLL recommends staying on a version prior to v4.6.1 if the designer is used. Once upgraded, it will no longer be available
- For questions regarding the Crystal 2013 transition with Forms, please email Col-ProviderRelations@zoll.com or support@zoll.com
- RescueNet ePCR
- All reporting functions inherent to RescueNet ePCR will be upgraded to use SAP Crystal 2013 in versions 5.4.4 and 6.1.x.
- For compatibility reasons, once you have upgraded RN ePCR to versions 5.4.4 or 6.1.x, you will also need to upgrade RNDB 4.6.1
- If using custom PCR reports (server, mobile units, WebPCR, and Fax Server) customers should test them after upgrading to 5.4.4 or 6.1.x to ensure they’re still working correctly
- This upgrade is not required for customers currently using RescueNet ePCR
- For questions regarding the Crystal 2013 transition with RescueNet ePCR, please email Ben Barnett at bbarnett@zoll.com or support@zoll.com
- RescueNet FireRMS
- For all FireRMS customers using “Central Web Reporting”, this feature will no longer be available with the next release of FireRMS 5.01 schedule for December 2015. Those customers using “Central Web Reporting” should contact ZOLL support and they will assist you in taking advantage of our most popular feature of “Central Network Repository” for managing your crystal reports from your network
- For questions regarding the Crystal 2013 transition with FRMS, please email Stewart Smith at ssmith@zoll.com or support@zoll.com
- RescueNet Crew Scheduler
- Crew Scheduler 3.0 versions are already updated to use the latest Crystal Reporting components. For this reason, no additional changes are required for Crew Scheduler at this time.
Fixing Your Report or Form
In order to upgrade your Custom Reports or Visual Forms, you will need a version of Crystal 2013 installed on a workstation or server that is accessible. Note, these steps will only be required if you have Custom Reports or do not want to import new Visual Forms. If you are upgrading a Custom Report, you will find the necessary files (.rpt extension files) in your Central Share > Reports 32 > Custom folder. If you are upgrading a Visual Form, you will find those files (.rpt extension files) located under your Central Share > Billing folder.
Open the desired file in Crystal 2013 and from the Main Tool Bar select Database > Verify Database. Crystal may prompt you to “fix up” the report. In this case you will want to say “OK”. In the case where Crystal states that a table cannot be found, click “NO” when it asks if you want to remove the table from the report. Take note of the tables prompted to remove, say “NO”, and additional steps will be necessary for these prompts. If you receive a message that says “The database is now up to date” you should be good to go.
If prompted to remove tables, we will want to make sure that the Datasource Location is set properly. To do so, go to the Main Tool Bar and select Database > Set Datasource Location and find the tables Crystal previously indicated was missing. You will find an option under the table Properties called “Overridden Qualified Table Name:” that will need to be completed by entering in the table name (see example below) after the colon (:). Complete this step for any tables that were missing when verifying the Database.
If your agency needs to purchase a copy of Crystal 2013 to accommodate for these changes, you may reach out to your ZOLL Sales representative or go direct to your 3rd party software company as this is the most current version of SAP Crystal Reports in the market.
IMPORTANT NOTE: It is important to note that ZOLL will no longer be distributing any RescueNet Products that utilize Crystal Reports unless those products have been updated to use the new Crystal Reports starting January 01, 2016. For this reason, if you do not wish to upgrade to the Crystal 2013 supported versions, you will need to download the desired version of the RescueNet product from our FTP sites prior to December 31, 2015. All current versions of RescueNet products will be removed from our FTP site and will be unavailable on January 1, 2016. The only versions available on the FTP site, or from ZOLL by any means on or after January 1, 2016 will be those versions that contain the updated Crystal Reporting components.
Thank you for your time, we hope this information was helpful. Have a wonderful day!
