RescueNet_Dispatch_Billing_Update

RescueNet Dispatch-Billing is Now GA for All Customers!

It is ZOLL’s pleasure to announce that RescueNet Dispatch-Billing v4.6 is now available to all customers! As announced in September, RNDB v4.6 was on limited release to those customers not using RescueNet ePCR 6.0 due to ongoing BETA testing, which has now been successfully completed.  All customers who had previously requested RNDB v4.6 should have already received a notification email with the FTP credentials needed to download this upgrade.

To request the RescueNet Dispatch-Billing v4.6 FTP credentials, please email support@zoll.com with the subject line “RNDB 4.6 FTP Request”.

For a full list of features included with RescueNet Dispatch-Billing v4.6 and to obtain the Hardware/Software specifications, please see our Product Documentation page on www.zolldata.com.  You must be logged in to see this content.

New Level of Service Verification Check Available!
As mentioned in ZOLL’s October 1, 2015 RescueNet Billing News announcement, ZOLL has been working on a new verification check that will help prevent customers from accidentally billing Emergency services to a Residential type destination.  As an EMS software vendor, ZOLL felt it beneficial to help our customers prevent this type of inaccurate billing after the release of the AAA announcement regarding the HHS-OIG review of these types of transports billed to Medicare.  This verification check will allow customers to configure which HCPCS codes represent Emergency Services. Trips containing these designated emergency HCPCS codes will fail verification if the drop-off location is a Residence, Nursing Home, Dialysis or Skilled Nursing Facility.

NOTE: To obtain this new functionality for ECMs, you must be on Special Claims Version 4.5.0.68 for RNDB 4.5 or 4.6.0.19 for RNDB 4.6.  For the new Visual Forms functionality, you must be on Visual Forms Update 9.9.13.36 for RNDB 4.5 or 9.9.14.13 for RNDB 4.6.  To request FTP access for these updates, please email support@zoll.com.

By default, A0427 and A0429 have been identified as Emergency HCPCS codes.  To configure additional HCPCS codes outside of A0427 and A0429 as Emergency, open RescueNet Administration > Billing > Schedules > Forms and ECMs to access the configuration for both ECMs and Visual Forms.

Visual Forms Configuration:

RescueNet Dispatch-Billing & ePCR Known Issue with ICD-10
Customers using our integrated RescueNet Suite should be aware that there is a known issue with NEMSIS v3 at this time.  Due to the NEMSIS v3.3.4 specifications, the submission of ICD-10 codes that start with an R00 – R69 and continue past three digits after the decimal will cause ePCR completion and extract failures (Example: R40.2361 is not valid due to the 4th digit).  To work around this, ZOLL asks that RescueNet ePCR administrators not share any complaints to the mobile units that meet this criteria.  NEMSIS has since corrected this issue in the 3.4 version, but until that version is widely supported by States and vendors, ZOLL and NEMSIS v3 customers will have to be aware of the need for a workaround.  If you are unsure whether you have these types of codes in your system, you may search using a custom report, available on our ICD-10 Resources Page along with instructions on how to install (you must be logged in to review this content). This report will assist with searching for codes R00-R69 that go out to the 4th digit after the decimal.  Export this report to Excel for the ability to sort by ICD-10 code.
